How do you play hangman?▾
One player (or the computer) picks a secret word shown as blanks. The other guesses one letter at a time. Correct letters fill in the blanks; each wrong letter draws another part of the figure. Guess the word before six wrong letters complete the drawing.
What letters should I guess first in hangman?▾
Start with vowels — E, A, O and I — then the most common consonants: T, N, S, R and L. In English, E is the most frequent letter, followed by T, A and O.
How many wrong guesses do you get?▾
Six: head, body, two arms and two legs. Some versions add extra parts for more guesses, but six is the classic rule and the one used here.
Can I play hangman with a friend?▾
Yes. Choose 2 players, let Player 1 type a secret word or phrase (it's hidden like a password) and hand the device to Player 2 to guess. Spaces and hyphens are shown automatically.
How do hints work?▾
A hint reveals one missing letter in the word but costs a life, so it's best saved for the end. You can't use a hint on your last life.
