Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate running pace?▾
Divide your time by the distance. A 10 km run in 50:00 is 50 ÷ 10 = 5:00 per km, which is 8:03 per mile.
What pace do I need for a sub-2-hour half marathon?▾
About 5:41 per km or 9:09 per mile. Enter 21.0975 km (tap Half marathon), choose Find pace and type 1:59:59.
How are race times predicted?▾
With the Riegel formula T2 = T1 × (D2 ÷ D1)^1.06, which assumes appropriate training for the longer distance. Predictions for much longer races (e.g. 5K to marathon) tend to be optimistic.
How do I convert min/km to min/mile?▾
Multiply by 1.609344. A 6:00 /km pace is 9:39 /mile. Switch between Kilometers and Miles and the pace is converted automatically.
