Frequently asked questions
How do I make flashcards online for free?▾
Press New deck, name it and type one card per line with the term and the definition separated by a dash, like “mitochondria - the powerhouse of the cell”. Press Save & study and your cards are ready. There's no signup and no limit on the number of cards or decks.
Can I import flashcards from Quizlet or a spreadsheet?▾
Yes. Export your Quizlet set as text (tab between term and definition) or copy two columns from Excel or Google Sheets and paste them into Edit cards. Tabs, dashes, equals signs, colons, semicolons and commas are all recognised as separators.
What is the best way to study with flashcards?▾
Use active recall and repetition: look at the term, say or type the answer before flipping, and be honest about what you know. Mark cards you missed as Still learning and restudy just those, then shuffle the whole deck and quiz yourself again over the next few days (spaced repetition).
How does the quiz mode check my answers?▾
It ignores capital letters, accents and punctuation, accepts any alternative separated by a slash or comma in the answer, and forgives a single typo on longer answers. Your score is shown at the end of the round.
Where are my flashcards saved?▾
In your browser's local storage on this device, so they're still there when you come back. Nothing is uploaded. To move a deck to another device or share it, use Download .txt or Copy as text and paste it into Edit cards on the other device.
Can I study the definition first?▾
Yes. Tick Show definition first to flip the deck so you see the definition and recall the term. It works in both Study and Quiz modes, and Shuffle mixes the card order each round.
