    Frequently asked questions

The ENABLE word list — about 168,000 English words from 2 to 15 letters, a public-domain list used by many word games. A few offensive slurs are left out.

    How do blank tiles work?▾

Type ? or * for each blank. A blank can stand for any letter, is worth 0 points and is shown in a lighter color in the results.

    How are the scores calculated?▾

    With standard Scrabble tile values: A E I O U L N S T R = 1, D G = 2, B C M P = 3, F H V W Y = 4, K = 5, J X = 8, Q Z = 10. Board bonuses (double/triple letter or word) are not included.

    Can it solve anagrams?▾

Yes. Words that use every one of your letters are marked 'uses all letters' — for example RETAINS gives NASTIER, RETINAS, STAINER and more.

Does it work for Wordle or crosswords?▾

Use Length plus Starts with / Ends with / Contains to narrow the list, e.g. 5 letters ending in -ER.
