    Frequently asked questions

What is a tally counter used for?▾

Counting people at an event or door, laps, reps, inventory, birds or traffic in surveys, stitches and rows in knitting, prayers or mantras — anything you'd count with a hand clicker.

Can I count several things at once?▾

Yes. Add up to 12 named counters, switch with the tabs or keys 1–9, and see the total of all counters. Each has its own step and target.

Will I lose my count if I close the page?▾

No. Counts, names, steps and targets are saved in your browser automatically and come back when you reopen the page on the same device.

Can I count by more than one?▾

Yes — set the Step to 2, 5, 10 or any number and each tap adds (or subtracts) that amount.

Does it work with a keyboard or clicker?▾

Yes. Space, Enter, ↑ or + count up; ↓, − or Backspace count down. Many Bluetooth presentation clickers send these keys, so they work too.

Can I stop the count from going below zero?▾

By default the counter stops at 0. Tick Allow negative numbers if you need to go below zero, for example to track a balance.
