- 1For a countdown, tap a preset like 5 min or 25 min, or type hours, minutes and seconds and press Start
- 2Pause, resume or reset any time; an alarm beeps and the screen shows 'Time's up!' when it reaches zero
- 3Switch to Stopwatch to time something, tap Lap for split times and Copy laps to save them
Frequently asked questions
Will the timer still work if I switch tabs?▾
Yes. The timer is based on the real clock, not on counting ticks, so it stays accurate in a background tab. The remaining time is shown in the tab title and the alarm plays when it ends. Keep the tab open.
Why didn't I hear the alarm?▾
Browsers only allow sound after you interact with the page, so start the timer with a click or tap. Check that 'Alarm sound' is ticked and your device is not muted.
Can I use it as a Pomodoro timer?▾
Yes. Tap 25 min for a focus session and 5 min for a short break.
How accurate is the stopwatch?▾
It uses your device clock and displays tenths of a second, which is accurate enough for workouts, cooking, presentations and study sessions.
