Does this online notepad save my notes?▾
Yes. Every change is saved automatically in your browser's local storage a moment after you stop typing, so your notes are still there when you close the tab and come back later on the same device and browser.
Are my notes private?▾
Your notes never leave your device — nothing is uploaded to a server and there is no account. Anyone who uses the same browser profile could open them, so avoid storing passwords or highly sensitive data on a shared computer.
Can I access my notes on another device?▾
No. Notes are stored only in the browser where you wrote them and are not synced. To move a note, download it as a .txt file or copy the text and paste it on the other device.
Will I lose my notes if I clear my browser history?▾
Clearing cookies and site data (or using a private/incognito window) deletes locally stored notes. Download important notes as .txt files as a backup.
Is there a limit on how much I can write?▾
Browsers typically allow about 5 MB of local storage per site — roughly a million words of plain text. If storage is full or blocked, the notepad shows a red warning so you can download your text before leaving.
What is focus mode?▾
Focus mode hides the note list and page around the editor and fills the screen with just your text, which helps with distraction-free writing. Click Exit focus to return.
