Frequently asked questions
How does the vocal remover work?▾
Lead vocals are usually mixed in the centre of a stereo song. The tool cancels the sound both channels share in the voice range, which removes most of the singing while side-panned instruments stay.
Why is some of the voice still audible?▾
Reverb, echo, backing vocals and stereo effects are not perfectly centred, so traces can remain. Studio recordings with a dry centred vocal give the cleanest karaoke track.
Does it work with mono files?▾
No. A mono file has identical left and right channels, so there is no stereo difference to separate the voice from the music. Use a stereo version of the song.
Is my song uploaded?▾
No. The audio is decoded and processed on your own device, and nothing is sent to a server.
