How do you calculate alcohol units?▾
Multiply the volume in ml by the ABV percentage and divide by 1,000. A 568 ml pint of 4.5% beer contains 568 × 4.5 ÷ 1000 = 2.6 units.
How many units are in a glass of wine?▾
A 175 ml glass of 12% wine contains 2.1 units, and a large 250 ml glass of 13% wine contains about 3.3 units.
What is the difference between a UK unit and a US standard drink?▾
A UK unit is 10 ml or 8 g of pure alcohol, while a US standard drink contains 14 g, so one US drink is about 1.75 UK units.
