Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate ROI?▾
ROI = (final value − amount invested) ÷ amount invested × 100. Investing 10,000 and getting back 15,000 is a 5,000 gain, or a 50% ROI.
What is annualized ROI?▾
It is the compound yearly rate that turns the investment into the final value. A 50% gain over 3 years is an annualized return of about 14.47% per year.
What is a good ROI?▾
It depends on risk. Broad stock market index funds have historically averaged roughly 7% to 10% a year, so returns are often compared against that benchmark.
