Frequently asked questions
Does white noise help you sleep?▾
Steady sound masks sudden noises like traffic, voices or snoring that can wake you. Many people fall asleep faster with pink or brown noise, which sound softer than white noise.
Is white noise safe for babies?▾
Yes, at a low volume. Keep it quieter than a shower (about 50 dB), place the device at least 2 m (7 ft) from the crib, and use the sleep timer instead of playing all night.
What is the difference between white, pink and brown noise?▾
White noise has equal energy at every frequency and sounds like hiss. Pink noise is softer and closer to rain. Brown noise is deeper, like a waterfall or distant thunder.
Which noise is best for focus or ADHD?▾
Many people prefer brown or pink noise for studying and work because it hides chatter without being harsh. Try the Focus preset and keep the volume low.
Can white noise help with tinnitus?▾
Soft background sound can make ringing in the ears less noticeable, which is why it is used in sound therapy. Set it just below the level of your tinnitus and talk to a doctor about ongoing symptoms.
Will it keep playing with the screen off?▾
On most devices yes. Sounds are generated in your browser, so nothing downloads. The sleep timer fades the sound out and stops it automatically.
