Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate pool gallons?▾
For a rectangular pool multiply length × width × average depth in feet, then × 7.48. A 32 × 16 ft pool with a 4.75 ft average depth holds about 18,200 gallons.
How do I calculate a round pool's volume?▾
Multiply π × radius² × average depth. In feet, multiply the result by 7.48 for gallons; in metres, multiply by 1,000 for litres.
Why do I need to know my pool volume?▾
Chlorine, shock, salt and other chemical doses are given per 10,000 gallons or per cubic metre, and pump and heater sizing depend on it too.
