Frequently asked questions
Does my secret key leave the browser?▾
No. Signing happens locally using the Web Crypto API (HMAC-SHA256). Your secret and generated token are never sent to any server.
How is this different from jwt.io?▾
Same core idea, but there is no Auth0/Okta account prompt, no upsell banners, and nothing is transmitted anywhere — it is a plain client-side tool.
What does "none" algorithm mean?▾
It produces an unsigned token (header.payload. with an empty signature). Useful for testing, but never use unsigned tokens in production.
Is it free?▾
Yes. No account, no limits.
