Frequently asked questions
Which barcode types are supported?▾
EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, Code 128 and Code 39 work in every browser. Browsers with built-in barcode detection, such as Chrome on Android, also read UPC-E, Code 93, Codabar and ITF.
Is the image uploaded?▾
No. The image and camera feed are processed only in your browser.
Why is my barcode not detected?▾
Make sure the whole barcode is visible, in focus and well lit, and hold it straight. Cropping the photo closer to the barcode often helps.
Can it scan QR codes?▾
This tool reads 1D barcodes. Use the QR Code Scanner for QR codes.
