What are the rules of sudoku?▾
Fill the 9×9 grid so every row, every column and every 3×3 box contains the digits 1 to 9 exactly once. The starting numbers can't be changed.
Does every puzzle have a unique solution?▾
Yes. Each puzzle is generated fresh and checked by a solver so it has exactly one solution — it can always be solved by logic, without guessing.
What's the difference between the difficulty levels?▾
Easy starts with about 40 given numbers, medium 32, hard 27 and expert about 24. Fewer clues mean you need more advanced techniques.
How do notes (pencil marks) work?▾
Turn on Notes and tap numbers to jot small candidates in a cell. When you place a digit, it's automatically removed from the notes in the same row, column and box.
