Speech features come from your browser, not from clkr.work. Some browsers (for example Chrome and Edge) send the audio or text to the browser maker's online speech service; clkr.work's servers never receive it. Anonymous usage events (such as which button was pressed) are counted, never your content. Privacy policy

    Frequently asked questions

How do I convert speech to text for free?▾

Open this page in Chrome, Edge or Safari, pick your language and press Start listening. Your words are typed as you speak — no signup, time limit or app needed.

Which languages does voice typing support?▾

English (US, UK, India), Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.

How do I add punctuation when dictating?▾

In English, say the punctuation: 'comma', 'period' or 'full stop', 'question mark', 'exclamation mark', 'colon', 'new line' or 'new paragraph'. Sentences are capitalized automatically.

Why doesn't speech to text work in Firefox?▾

Firefox hasn't enabled the Web Speech API that browsers use for voice recognition. Use Chrome, Edge or Safari on desktop, Android or iPhone instead.

Is my voice recorded or saved?▾

We never record or store your audio or text. Recognition is done by your browser's built-in speech engine — in Chrome that engine is Google's speech service.

How can I get more accurate results?▾

Use a headset or sit close to the microphone, speak at a steady pace, choose the exact language and region, and pause briefly between sentences.
