Frequently asked questions
How do I know if a key is broken?▾
Press it: working keys light up immediately. If a key never lights up, or stays lit after you release it, it is not registering or is stuck.
What is keyboard ghosting and rollover?▾
Rollover is how many keys a keyboard can register at the same time. Cheaper keyboards often handle 2–6 keys; gaming keyboards support 'N-key rollover'. Ghosting is when extra key presses are dropped. Hold keys together and read 'Max at once'.
Why don't some keys show up?▾
The operating system reserves a few keys and shortcuts (like the Windows key combinations, Fn and media keys), so the browser never receives them.
What is the difference between key and code?▾
'key' is the character produced (it changes with Shift and keyboard language), while 'code' is the physical key position (like KeyA), which stays the same on any layout.
