Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate what I need on my final?▾
Required final = (target − current × (1 − weight)) ÷ weight. With an 85% current grade, a 90% target and a final worth 25%, you need (90 − 85 × 0.75) ÷ 0.25 = 105%.
What if the result is over 100%?▾
A score above 100% means the target can't be reached with a normal final exam. You would need extra credit, or a lower target grade.
What does the final exam weight mean?▾
It is the percentage of your total course grade that the final counts for, found in your syllabus. A final worth 20% means everything else counts for 80%.
